The HMR First Network

The HMR First Network is a peer support group for recently qualified GPs. We hold free networking and informal teaching sessions (currently virtually) on the 2nd Thursday of the month. We aim to encourage peer support, exploration of career opportunities and small group learning opportunities. If you are a newly qualified GP who works predominantly in HMR please feel free to join us! Any questions,  or to get on the mailing list for invites to the sessions

GP Retention Fund (Closes - May 2021)

GP Retention Monies
As you may be aware the NHSE Clinical fellowship programme is due to be launch which involves an opportunity for a bursary for newly qualified GP related to GP's completing their training from November 2018.
If you completed your training prior to this we have some monies related to GP retention that we have the approval to use to give you guys the opportunity to receive a similar bursary.
The bursary is a contribution to cover educational costs (not already provided elsewhere via core training). Examples include:

•    fund training to undertake an extended role specialising in a disease area /skill that is prevalent within the PCN
•    support a PCN with an identified area of need, e.g. workforce development, leadership, management or business skills, training needs analysis, quality improvement
•    fund additional qualifications e.g. MBA or a research project in an area of special interest prevalent to the PCN

There will be no funding for backfill. This is only available to those of you who are in a substantive post in HMR, within the first 5 years of being a GP and haven't had the benefit of HEE clinical fellows funding. Currently, we will cap it at 3K but this may vary depending upon the number of applications.
We would like you to liaise with your PCN clinical director to make sure it enhances local priorities.

Please complete the application form by Friday 15th May, and email it to Dr Gill Tonge - Gill.tonge@nhs.net, and we will contact you by the end of May to say if you have been successful.
We will need proof of completion and a summary of key impacts this has had on you, your practice and your PCN as part of the agreement to the funding.
